Accommodation Bond - Bimbadeen Hostel, Low Care Only
 
Entry to the Low Care Hostel (Bimbadeen) is generally by way of an accommodation bond (“Bond”). The current indicative average bond amount is from $242,000.00 onwards.
 
The Bond can be paid in a number of ways:
 
1)        lump sum on date of entry or within 6 months of date of entry;
2)        periodic payment (fortnightly or monthly); or
3)        combination of lump sum and periodic payment.
 
Deferred lump sum payments and periodic payments attract a daily interest charge which is determined by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
 
The current rate for residents entering care is 7.30% per annum. 
 
Retention amount:                                 $299.00 per month (up to 5 years)
 
This amount is fixed at the rate applying at your date of entry and is deducted from your accommodation bond. The balance of the bond is refunded to you or your estate when you leave.
 
 
Fees - high care & low care: (valid from Sept 2009 as per the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing)
 
Maximum Basic Daily Care Fee:
 
Standard Resident contribution - up to $36.94 per day
 
Protected Resident contribution - up to $33.74 per day
 
Phased Resident contribution - up to $33.74 per day
 
Non-standard resident contribution - up to $42.02 per day

Please note, fees and charges are determined by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing and are altered every 6 monthls.           
Income tested fees are assessed by Centrelink.
